Overview:

To support the growing industrial activity in the Balasore region, a dedicated railway siding has been developed. The facility features two separate loading and unloading platforms designed for handling both clean and dirty cargo. This strategic infrastructure aims to reduce logistics costs for bulk inbound and outbound cargo, positioning Balasore as a regional logistics hub.

Since its commissioning in January 2021, the siding has evolved into a vital logistics hub, enabling the efficient movement of raw materials for over 300 fly ash brick manufacturing units across Balasore and Mayurbhanj..

Significant reduction in transportation costs for industries, especially for bulk goods and equipment.

Minimized transit losses and reduced turnaround time, leading to improved operational efficiency.

The South Eastern Railway (SER) plans to shift all freight handling operations from the congested Balasore Railway Station to this siding.

This shift will decongest road traffic in Balasore town and allow SER to expand passenger handling capacity, improving overall rail infrastructure for both freight and passenger services.
